Resume and Letter of Application Assignment

This assignment has three parts:

First, find a job posting for a position you are interested in. This job should have something to do with what you hope to do when you finish your degree! If you already have a position you want to keep after you finish your degree, then you should apply for a position that you would consider a promotion. You will need to include a copy of the position when you hand this project in. If you can't imagine what job you would apply for, we should get together and talk.

Second, considering the advice offered in the reading, write a resume and a letter of application that would be appropriate for this position.

Third, write a memo from you to me where you describe the process of your writing for this assignment.

Here are some things to think about:

• There are many MANY different places where you can find job listings. We'll talk about this in class of course, but besides the "want ads" in the paper, you might want to consider online resources, EMU resources, various "networking" activities, etc.
• We will have a peer review for this assignment on March 22, and the final version of the assignment is due on March 29!
